Spider Studios contributed to BBC Studios’ The Golden Cobra, the double BAFTA-winning animated comedy. Across two series, the work combined selected character rigs and animation controls with 2D animation and detailed background artwork within an established broadcast-production workflow.

The challenge

Every asset had to feel at home in an established visual world while being technically dependable for fast-moving episodic production.

Spider Studios’ contribution

We created character rigs and control systems designed for expressive posing, facial performance, head turns and practical animation control. Alongside this, our background art ranged from grounded locations and atmospheric street scenes to large-scale science-fiction environments—always shaped around story, comedy and clarity.

The outcome

A flexible contribution across rigging, animation and visual development that supported the show’s production process without losing its distinctive character.
